Two projects have shaped my research. Both ask a version of the same question: who can reach a public service, and what stands in the way.

Fare-free public transport

Where fares are abolished, who decides to do it, and what changes once they are gone. A decade of work across Poland and Czechia, combining national inventories of fare-free networks with case studies of individual towns and of the movements campaigning for zero fares.

2021–2023 · National Science Centre, Poland, Preludium-19 (grant no. 2020/37/N/HS4/01285), principal investigator. Earlier work supported by the Excellence Initiative – Research University programme at Jagiellonian University. The grant has ended; I continue to publish on the topic.

Geographies of Recovery

Spatial access to addiction treatment provision across Poland. Research on drug use in the region is well developed; where treatment is actually available, and who can realistically reach it, is not. The project maps provision nationally and examines what the resulting geography means for the people who need it.

Alongside these, I work on shared mobility and e-scooter sharing, food waste mitigation and food-sharing platforms, and conflicts over transport policy in European cities. Those themes, and my full publication list, are on the research page.
